I like to start my reviews by discussing the book’s plot, but with Solid Stone: Revolving Door I think it’s better if I don’t! It has been said in other reviews for this book, but I think this is the kind of story you are better off knowing nothing about before you get stuck in. There are so many revelations (not all are mind-blowing, but I think it’s better if you don’t know them beforehand!) that the story just wouldn’t have the desired effect if you knew them all before you got started. The secrets are revealed at the perfect points in the story, and I know that I personally wouldn’t have felt the same about the characters if I had known everything about them to start with. And isn’t the point of a story to change your opinion the more you read? So, go in blind! It will be a better reading experience if you do. That said, it is a fantastic and unique plot that is sure to shock you in places. From her very first introduction, I just knew I was going to fall in love with Violet’s character. At first, she comes across as a strong, independent woman who is focused on herself and I just love this. Who doesn’t envy her?! And I only get more envious of her when she wins the affection of Adam. |
Although I will admit that he can come across as a bit of a jerk, that’s his character; he is supposed to! The effect he has on Violet is so profound that she really does blossom during the time they send together. I felt like she found herself and became more believable as the story went on and her character developed. I also loved the effect she had on Adam; she brought out his sensitive side and made him a lot more endearing and likeable. And I don’t think we can ignore the chemistry and passion between them! Wow, there are some seriously hot scenes in this book. Like, seriously hot. If you’re looking for some steamy sex scenes, look no further. This book is packed with them. If you’re not satisfied after finishing this book, then I’m not sure what to suggest! Overall, Solid Stone: Revolving Door was a thoroughly enjoyable read. It has some brilliant characters (aside from Violet and Adam, I absolutely loved Ann!) and a captivating plot full of surprises. I really can’t see how anyone would be disappointed after reading this, it really is this good! I can’t wait to read the next book in the series and she how Violet and Adam’s relationship progresses. Thanks to the author for a fantastic read! |

Words practically escape me... this book is positively sizzling. Ms. Patrick's has skillfully written a story that had me on the edge of my seat. Raw, edgy, unpredictable, deliciously sexy, sensual, unique, and a little on the dark side BDSM, this story grabbed me at the cover and kept me captivated until the very end and even then I wanted more........well this book is full of triggers. |
Adam and Violet, are very good developed characters they can't be more natural than they are and I loved them, specifically Adam! He's witty, sexy, and oh so dirty. Buckle up, Baby because you're going to be on the edge of your seat the whole time...enjoy! RECOMENDABLE READ!!!!!!!! |

Adam is an alpha male who works hard and plays hard, but still manages to remain humble. At times he comes across as somewhat of a jerk, but when you learn more about him, you see that all is not as it appears. Violet, the low on self esteem, beautiful paralegal is a perfect match for Adam, but he doesn't do relationships. This lets us in on their give and take relationship filled with lots of amazing, erotic sex. |
I love how Violet blooms under Adam's hands and becomes a much more confident woman. Looking forward to the next book! |

As Adam showed Violet what she'd been missing out, I saw the Domineering Alpha in him and, to be honest, at times I wanted to smack him. Poor Violet didn't know what she was exactly getting into when she said yes to Adam...but, boy, she was about to find out. Adam was used to being right, obeyed and getting what he wanted, and I'd like to believe that's why he chose Violet. Adam shows Violet how good they are together, yet we also see a sarcastic side to Adam that once again had me wanting to reach out and smack some kindness and sense into him. |
I frequently hated how he treated and spoke to Violet, and that's why I felt Violet lost a bit of her self-esteem there. I know she wanted to please him, but I wish she would have fought a little more. Though, one of the many things that Violet did experience was discovering her sexuality, which Adam was a pro at showing her. Now, be warned! Solid Stone ends on a cliffy so we have to wait for book two to see if there will be a HEA for Adam and Violet. Nonetheless, it was a HOT read so get ready, and be prepared…you might need a cold shower (or two) and some extra panties after this one. |

Considering this is the first time I have read a book by E.G. Patrick and it is her first is a treat for this reader. In a way it might resemble Fifty Shades of Grey but there is much more. It is about a young innocent girl who is not all innocent for like all girls she has fantasies that are waiting to be explored. It takes a man like Adam Stone to show her there is no shame about letting her passion go wild. E.G. Patrick and the sex scenes talk about hot for there were times I had to grab a bottle water. Adam is all about control and man I feel sorry in a way for Violet for she has no chance to just leave him. This is more just about finding love it is about a woman and man finding the love they have always dreamed yet finding out how right they complete each other. Cannot wait for book 2 by E.G. Patrick for we are getting more into Violet`s desires and fantasies can`t wait to see if Adam will be man enough to tame this wild girl. |

When I received Solid Stone I knew it had already been published so I avoided reading any of the blurbs about it or looking up any of the info pertaining to the author so I could go into it with a completely open mind. Its not often I get to do that with a brand new author that I have never been acquainted with so that in itself was exciting. EG Patrick, from her emails, seemed like a complete sweetheart - letting me choose a date for my review (Valentine's Day - since its a love story) and even sending me an autographed copy of the paperback version for the display case in my office! The book starts with Violet Cole, a paralegal who meets the uber hot, ultra successful Adam Stone - literally in a revolving door. Her laptop bag gets stuck in the door and traps him in one side of it. Later she realizes that he is the big shot who she will be in several meetings with for the next few months as her work assigns. |
They are instantly attracted to each other and Adam wastes no time letting Violet know his intentions. Here is where I ran into an issue. I was a bit concerned that this book was taking too much of a FSOG turn. There were a few things at this point in the story that were very, very similar to FSOG. Almost fan-fic like. But, soon the issue was resolved and on we went. The entire book is really very beautifully written. Even the cover is pretty. Ms. Patrick certainly knows how to develop three dimensional characters that suck you into their story. I loved Violet. She was so innocent but willing to give it all up for Adam. She was kind, loving and oh so trusting with her heart. I worried about her because for many chapters Adam just wasnt my favorite character ever. He seemed almost... cold and a bit guarded. Of course, I ended up just as in love with him as I was Violet. At the end of the story I realized that this is the first book in a series that will tell the story of these two so just be warned... This story is NOT OVER! |
EG Patrick wrote a great book in Solid Stone. I give it 5 WickedGoodStars and will be recommending it to my fellow readers who love a hot, steamy story! Solid stone is a book I was given to read in return for a review and I was so glad I got the chance to read it. It's like fifty shades but better well that's what I think. I loved the characters and connected with them straight away. I loved the female character and in a way I am a bit like her so I could relate to how she was portrayed in the book. I enjoyed the story-line and how it progressed, as you read more it got better and better. I can't wait for the second book and to see how the story continues. This really is a thrill-a-minute type of book, which I found to be both irresistible and charming in it's style. |
The writing is not smutty but well handled and passionate. The underlying theme may resonate from other well-known titles, but I felt this book has more depth and realism. Definitely opened itself for further books in the series of this exciting couple, which I believe will be well received by readers. |

James trilogy, but don’t get it twisted, Patrick is no copycat. With a twist of its own, “Solid Stone” takes off full throttle in an intriguing and unpredictable direction that will have you forgetting about Christian...Who? While Patrick knows exactly how to keep reader’s attention, there were a few scenarios and or conversations that were repetitive and takes away from the developing of the story. |
Readers will find themselves desiring to learn if Adam, the control freak, will finally pop his gasket? Or, why the drama starts too heightened and then drops flat. Then again, when the second to the last page is turned readers will realize this book is only an introduction into a darker world that Patrick is about to unveil, and I can’t wait!
I give “Solid Stone” 5 out of 5 stars.

This was a highly sexual book. I really enjoyed how Violet and Adam met and the automatic connection they had with each other. If you like a lot of sexist a great storyline then this book is for you. And of course you can't have the good without the bad. Violet and Adam had their fair share of bad times. So this is not a totally happy book. I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. |
I loved this book! It's a high quality erotic romance that is well written. While there are lots of HOT scenes (explicit and unique that's for sure – total control!) that you won't forget, there is a very good story behind it. Some great surprises that I did not see coming! I recommend this book and look forward to the next book. |
